Spring awakening

Call to Stage presents a fresh and intimate take on Spring Awakening at The National Piping Centre this February - a powerful contemporary rock musical about youth, censorship and the cost of forbidden knowledge.

Set within an oppressive and conservative community, the story follows a group of teenagers beginning to question the world in which they’ve been raised. With adults offering rules instead of real guidance, they’re left to make sense of their emotions, desires, and fears on their own. Follow our characters’ attempts to write their own stories as they navigate first love, friendship, fear, and confusion.

Featuring a blend of new and familiar performers, Spring Awakening pairs honest, grounded drama with a rock score which feels both timeless and fiercely modern.
